Recently I’ve done a terrible job of posting anything on the blog or portfolio sections or anywhere on the site for that matter. I’ve been busier than ever and am very grateful for all the amazing people I’m getting to work with. I just added 9 new projects to the site, primarily Identity pieces and brand development, but don’t miss the new deck designs for pros Brian Sumner and Uriel Luebcke, as skate decks still are my favorite thing to design. I’d love to get more work within the actions sports industries and hopefully I’ll have more of that to show you soon. Additionally be on the look out for a lot of print updates once I get all the photos taken. I’d love to hear you feedback on the new stuff, and I’m super thankful for all of your support. I also just recently got in 1,500 more stickers so if you want some make sure and email me.

I know I have posted up before about the radness that is Mayer Hawthorne, but this was too good to pass by and not share. So many of my favorite things in one spot, great music, skateboarding, San Francisco, HUF, wow. Peep it!

A while back I was contacted by Chazzy over at what was to become Vicious History about developing their unique identity and helping establish a niche within a very flooded market. His vision to break away from everything that was currently offered and to present a very mature aesthetic within a graphic heavy industry was something I gladly could support and work towards developing an identity to represent. He has a great mind for the apparel industry and I was honored to be able to contribute to what I think will become a front runner amidst the graphic tee heavy hitters.

As a brand they made some very smart moves and came out swinging with their first seasons release, bringing on designs from renown artists like Keaton Henson, Craig Robson, Oatmeal, and Killer Napkins. I can only wait to see what they drop next.

Not to go unnoticed they’ve received some good coverage around the web and are quickly building a solid following. Check them out at ViciousHistory.com and pick up a great tee for a very reasonable price.
There are a lot of different energy drinks out there, and most of them seem to consistently be battling for the top spots in people’s hearts. For me there has always been a clear stand out, and it’s because they have always lead the pack, and done things different. Red Bull does taste awesome, but more than that, they spend their money supporting the activities that I love. I could go on for a long, long time about all the awesome events, projects, and concepts Red Bull has funded from Manny Mania events to Project X, but I think this clip really shows a love and passion for your supporters. This Minnesota X Red Bull clip takes embracing winter hazards to a new level, and I think is a perfect example of true passion for being creative within skateboarding. Thank you Red Bull for being inspirational. I can only hope more companies follow in your foot steps for their sakes and to continue to push action sports to new levels.
Friday was full of fun. BLACKLIST put on a rail jam in front of the shop courtesy of ROME SDS. They brought out a van, some snow, a box, and filled up the parking spots directly in front of the shop. Aside from a silver echo who decided 2hr parking meant all day is ok, the event went off really well. A lot of people came out, had a blast, and definitely showed that there is a thriving snowboard scene in Greeley. I shot a few photos of the event before rushing off to The Farm for the evening skate sessions. (click through to flickr for download)

As usual the skate sessions went off at the park, however I must give huge props to Buggy and Bryce for destroying everything they tried and both bagging some serious bangers for the evening.

Yeah that’s an alleyoop backside flip wallride from buggy out of the 4ft quarter into the 12ft wall… This kid is nuts!

And Bryce brought out some crazy style with this frontside footplant rocking the tall socks and knee pads in true vert skater style. It was a great day with lots of skating, snowboarding, and friends.

And to end it all here is a photo shot by my friend Stephen Denton of Caleb from Reliance skateboards rocking a shirt I designed for them about a year and a half ago. It’s always fun to see people rocking the stuff you work on, especially when they’re doing a bluntslide kickflip out.

The guys over at Cypher 13 have done some seriously inspiring work for me. A little over a year ago they knocked out these rad self portraits and today I decided to make one of myself. While their faces are composed on circles mine is created using lines at the signature 20˚angle and one rotated an additional 90˚. I’ve been having some brain farts in the creative department while trying to recover from this sickness, but this was good to get the creative juices flowing and re-focused for some new branding and identity pieces. I hope everyone is having a great weekend!
Tonight at The Farm I tried to, but was quickly found incapable of skating due to having bronchitis. Since I couldn’t skate, I decided it would be a good night to get out the camera and shoot a photo or two. Turned out I only had one flash with batteries so I made the best of the situation and tried to grab a little taste of the session down the 3 flat 3. Julio stepped up and stomped this huge pop shuvit with way too much style (yes this is the photo of the land). Also note the new BlueBeanie sticker he’s repping. Make sure you get yours and shoot some pics of the places you’ve added some fun to. I’m working hard on updating more so keep checking back often for lots of great things that are on their way for this coming year.

The second round of Official BlueBeanie stickers just arrived in the mail from StickerRobot today. As usual they did and awesome job and I’m pumped to ship these out to any of you who want some. 2010 is bringing a lot of exciting things, and this is a great way to get it started. Be on the lookout for a lot of new branding and identity projects, logo designs, more apparel and product design, and some new, very fun, Official BlueBeanie pieces releasing over the next couple months.
